Air Control celebrates 25 years

Family business Air Control & Development has reached the major silver anniversary milestone of trading for 25 years.

Key to its success is the passion for applying the gold standard to every aspect of the company - especially when it comes to a green and eco- friendly modus operandi.

Based in Walsall, the business was formed back in February 1994 by two of the current Directors, Mick Robey and his wife Lynn, serving customers mostly in the retail sector where MD Mick had existing relationships with both Shopfitters and traditional property managers.

It has gone on to gain a reputation for excellence - in 2017 it was named one of Walsall’s top three air conditioning companies - and is sought after by many for its impressive bank of expertise, with a team of highly trained engineers and professionals covering design, installation, service and maintenance of air conditioning and ventilation systems for retail, commercial, industrial, leisure and domestic premises.

More recently it has moved on to providing the complete mechanical package (plumbing and welfare facilities).

Providing services throughout the UK, from Aberdeen, Belfast and Cardiff, to Windsor, Yarmouth and everywhere in between, Air Control & Development is an approved installer of all the leading manufacturers of air conditioning heat pump equipment, including Daikin, Mitsubishi, Toshiba and Panasonic.

“You know your air conditioning system will be installed to the standard you expect, with warranty extending over five years, bringing peace of mind.” assures Director Simon Robey.

“We install all types of energy efficient systems, including the inverter driven air-cooled heat pump systems that are subject to ECA (Enhanced Capital Allowance through Carbon Trust). No matter whether your system needs to be a single air cooled cassette, VRV or VRF multi-unit system, we can provide the right system for your needs.”

From the very start, the business has been determined to be at the forefront of industry developments and has always committed to on- going investment in training and technology, working in partnership with major manufacturers.

Consequently Air Control & Development has set out to lead the way on energy efficiencies, as environmental and economical awareness has grown over the years, embracing the evolution of R32 (the latest low Co2 refrigerant gas) and encouraging customers to utilise the greenest technologies within the market place.

In fact it only works with major suppliers who invest heavily in environmental issues, while its commitment to reducing its own carbon footprint has seen it using hybrid versions for four out of five of its fleet vehicles.

Other environmental responsibilities it undertakes include:

  • Having all its engineers fully qualified, holding Refrigerant Handling Certificates and therefore trained to deal with ozone-depleting refrigerants.
  • Recognising relevant legislation, regulations and government guidance.
  • Meeting the industry’s relevant codes of practice.
  • Ensuring all staff read and understand its Environmental Policy.
  • Minimises waste, conserves energy and natural resources and looks to see how to reduce waste created as part of the work process.
  • Uses registered waste disposal companies or licensed tips.
  • Actively ensures compliance with F-Gas regulations, fully understands them and is registered with REFcom.

With clients ranging from large multi-nationals in retail, commercial and industrial sectors, leisure premises and installation of single units, Air Control & Development is a breath of fresh air for businesses nationwide.

The company is an approved installer of all the leading manufacturers of air conditioning heat pump equipment including Daikin, Mitsubishi, Toshiba and Panasonic, so you know your air conditioning system will be installed to the standard you expect, with warranty extending over 5 years.
